That’s something only you can really figure out based on your own needs and budget. For some people, it most definitely will be worth it. This lens is used primarily for landscape photography where bokeh is not needed. Nikkor 12-24mm f/4 DX no bokeh on this lens considering max aperture of f/4 and lens being ultra wide. This is a result of a slightly lower center resolution overall, but the Nikon 85mm f/1.8G is still a very good short telephoto portrait lens on the D5. Shows heptagon diaphragm as bokeh, which most people don’t mind and some even like. Is an extra stop of light really worth an extra $2,000? Well, for a lot of people, it probably won’t.
